Ten Dead in Turkey Ski Resort Fire: TRNC Officials Extend Condolences
Senior officials from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have expressed their condolences following a tragic fire at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Turkey’s Bolu province, which claimed 10 lives. The TRNC President shared a heartfelt message, extending support to the families of the victims and wishing a swift recovery to those injured.
“I followed the devastating news of the fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province with great sadness and concern. I pray for Allah’s mercy on our brothers and sisters who lost their lives, patience and comfort for their grieving families, and a speedy recovery for our injured brothers and sisters,” the President stated.
The Speaker of the TRNC Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler, also issued a message of condolence, expressing sorrow over the incident.
The fire was reported to emergency services at 3:27 a.m. local time.
Emergency response efforts involved 267 personnel from various state agencies who worked tirelessly to extinguish the blaze and carry out rescue operations.
Turkey’s Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed that the fire resulted in 10 fatalities and left 32 others injured.
