Starting from January 1st, electricity prices have increased in Northern Cyprus
As of January 1, 2024, new electricity tariffs have come into effect in Northern Cyprus. On average, electricity in the country has increased by almost 7%.
In particular, the Cyprus Turkish Power Authority (KIB-TEK) announced an increase of 6.78% for all types of tariffs. However, tariffs for low-income groups of the population will not be increased for now.
In the standard tariff for the population, the price for 0–250 kilowatts per month has increased from 2.6963 to 2.8791 TL,
251–500 kWh from 5.5625 to 5.9396 TL,
501–750 kWh from 5.9810 to 6.3865 TL,
751–1000 kWh from 6.4831 to 6.9226 TL,
and over 1000 kWh from 7.7383 to 8.2629 TL.
It is worth noting that the last time electricity tariffs in Northern Cyprus changed was a month ago. Since December 1, 2023, electricity prices have increased by 7%.
