Stormy Winds and Dust: Weather Update for Northern Cyprus – April 9
According to the TRNC Department of Meteorology, Northern Cyprus will be under the influence of low pressure and cool, humid air on Wednesday, April 9. Forecasters are predicting mostly cloudy skies, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected throughout the day. Several storm warnings have already been issued across the country.
Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures will remain within the seasonal average, ranging between 18°C and 25°C in most areas. The highest temperatures are forecasted in Güzelyurt and Geçitkale.
A strong southwesterly wind is expected to sweep through the region today, reaching speeds of up to 50–61 km/h (Beaufort scale force 7). In addition, a dust warning has been issued, as winds are expected to carry dust from North Africa into the area.
