Strong Women - Strong Society": President of the TRNC's Greetings on International Women's Day
President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, has issued a message on the occasion of International Women's Day. In his address, the leader of Northern Cyprus emphasized the important role of women in the modern world.
Ersin Tatar reminded that the United Nations declared March 8th as International Women's Day in 1977 to underline the significant role of women in our lives.
The President noted that the role of women in the world, and in the TRNC in particular, is increasing every year.
Women are an integral part of social and economic life, the cornerstone of the family.
"The responsibility our women take as mothers in raising new generations is their role in building our future. This shows how vital they are to us," the President said in his address.
Ersin Tatar also added that under the motto "Strong Women, Strong Society," the state strives to ensure the absence of discrimination against women in terms of fundamental rights and freedoms, so that all state institutions ensure women's equal right to voice in all aspects of life - from education to business and politics.
"Turkish Cypriot women have made an invaluable contribution both to our struggle for existence and freedom, in the process of shaping our state, and in the economic steps taken to achieve a certain level of development," concluded the head of Northern Cyprus, wishing all women a future full of love, prosperity, and peace, where suffering and wars will cease.
