Athlete from TRNC Wins Turkish High Jump Championship for the Third Time
A sportswoman from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has clinched the Turkish women's high jump championship for the third time. Büse Savaşkan achieved a height of 1.81 meters.
For the Cypriot-Turkish athlete, these competitions in the Turkish Republic served as the final qualifying event before the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Following her victory in Turkey, the TRNC athlete now awaits the results of her competitors in the race for a spot at the Olympics.
The championship took place at Atatürk Stadium in Izmir, where Mustafa Sütcü, Director of TRNC's Sports Department, presented her with the gold medal.
