The car stolen from the casino two weeks ago was found at the checkpoint in Beyarmudu
In Northern Cyprus, two weeks later, the stolen car from the casino parking lot in Yeniboğaziçi was found. The perpetrator attempted to flee to the Republic of Cyprus in the stolen vehicle.
According to the police press service, the car theft occurred on March 17th. Around 9:00 PM, while at the casino in Yeniboğaziçi, a 41-year-old man stole the key from the car, which was left on the gaming table, and then got into the car in the casino parking lot and drove away in an unknown direction.
The stolen car was only found over two weeks later, in early April. Throughout this time, the man who committed the theft was being searched for.
"As part of further investigation, the car thief was found and arrested while attempting to cross to Southern Cyprus through the Beyarmudu checkpoint," the police statement said.
