Fires in the TRNC Caused Nearly One Million Lira in Damage Last Week
Over the past week, Northern Cyprus experienced 10 fires and 11 incidents that required the intervention of rescuers.
According to the weekly report from the Police Headquarters, the total damage caused by the fires amounted to 929,000 lira.
The fires are believed to have been caused by a variety of factors, including electrical short circuits, fuel leaks from vehicle engine compartments, tablecloths catching fire from lit candles, gas leaks, trash bins igniting due to discarded charcoal, blankets catching fire from electric heaters placed near beds, and out-of-control fires set for cleaning purposes.
In addition to extinguishing the fires, firefighters also rescued people trapped in elevators and took necessary precautions to prevent further disasters.
