"Sesta” exhibition opened at Ercan Airport
In a written statement, the management company of Ercan Airport T&T Airport Management noted that the sestas made by Cypriot handicraftsmen, which are in the collection of the Folk Arts Foundation - Center for Crafts (HASDER), were exhibited in the passenger departure hall after the passport control area .
Airport CEO M. Serhat Ozcelik said he is very happy to support the endangered elements of Cypriot culture and introduce a part of it to passengers through the sestas, which require a lot of effort and patience to make and are only done by hand.
Mr. Ozcelik emphasized the importance of preserving the Turkish Cypriot culture and passing it on to future generations, he also noted that we all must act together and thanked the HASDERA Foundation and all those who are making efforts to preserve cultural values that are on the verge of extinction.
