According to the results, pollution was detected at Escape Beach in Alsancak.
Water tests at designated bathing sites are conducted by the State Laboratory under a cooperation protocol signed between the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, and the Ministry of Health regarding "Monitoring, Sampling, and Analyzing Seawater Quality throughout the TRNC".
Recall that earlier results of water samples taken from beaches across the country in July were published. The results raised more questions than answers and led to criticism from local residents, officials, and environmentalists.
The Kyrenia Municipality even decided to conduct its own water quality testing at the district's beaches – in a private laboratory.
