New Ferry Terminal Opens in Anamur for Sea Service to TRNC
A new ferry terminal and seaplane dock have been inaugurated in Anamur today. This new port will provide the shortest maritime route between Anamur and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The terminal was built by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The dock, which cost 1.5 billion Turkish lira, will also serve as a supply point for the Navy. The project is expected to enhance both trade and tourism in the region.
The grand opening ceremony for the ferry terminal and seaplane dock in Anamur will be held today at 5:00 PM.
Attendees will include Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and distinguished guests from the TRNC: Minister of Tourism Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Transport Erhan Arıklı, and Foreign Minister Dursun Oğuz.
It is noteworthy that the new ferry service from Anamur to Kyrenia commenced on June 12. Travel time between Turkey and the TRNC has been reduced to approximately two hours.
Ferry services operate four times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Ferries depart from Anamur at 11:00 AM and return from Kyrenia at 6:00 PM. Tickets for the Anamur-Kyrenia ferries can be purchased from Anamur 7/24 Tour, Anamur Kaş Tour, and Güzel Anamur Tour, with a one-way ticket priced at 1500 TL. (Student tickets are priced at 1250 TL.)
