In Çamlıbele, animal rights activists have successfully rescued an injured donkey. Although the police were unable to locate the donkey's owner, the animal is now in safe hands.

The rescue was shared on social media by Kemal Basat, the director of Tashkent Nature Park.

"While many were comfortably relaxing at home this evening, a group of compassionate individuals saved an injured donkey that had been wandering the island. We have just brought him in from Çamlıbele. Unfortunately, the owner was not found during the police investigation," he wrote.

The donkey was discovered with injuries on its neck, caused by tethering.

Kemal Basat thanked the local police and veterinary services for their help in caring for the injured animal. The donkey is currently being looked after at the Animal Rehabilitation Center.

It is also worth mentioning that a fundraising campaign is currently underway in Northern Cyprus to support the care of stray donkeys in the Karpas region.
