Water Well Construction Completed in Çatalköy After Six Months
The construction of a water well in Çatalköy, intended to improve the area's water supply, has been completed after six months of work.
Mayor Ceyhun Kırok of Çatalköy-Esentepe announced the completion of the well on his social media page. He noted that water will begin flowing into the reservoirs to supply homes in the area within the next three days.
Mayor Kırok mentioned that the earthworks, which began on May 30, 2024, lasted 50 days. Measurements indicate that the new well has a production capacity of 70 cubic meters per hour. This well is now set to provide long-term autonomous operation for the region.
The total cost of the project was 1,261,923 Turkish lira, fully funded by the municipality.
It was previously reported that Northern Cyprus had discovered its richest water source.
