Three Injured in Nicosia Car Crash: Driver Flees but Is Later Caught
In Nicosia, three people were injured in a car accident, and the driver responsible fled the scene but was soon apprehended by the police.
According to the police report, the crash occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. A 23-year-old driver was heading east when he attempted to overtake a vehicle ahead of him near the Çeliksan area. However, he collided with the vehicle and then crashed into another car traveling in the right lane.
One of the vehicles spun out of control, hit a eucalyptus tree in the middle of the road, and overturned.
As a result of the crash, the driver of one of the cars, along with the driver and a 22-year-old passenger of the second car, were injured. All three victims were taken to Nicosia State Hospital, where they are currently under medical observation.
Despite fleeing the scene immediately after the accident, the driver responsible was later identified and arrested by the police. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
