Two accidents caused by drunk drivers occurred in Famagusta. Both accidents happened within an hour on Mustafa Kemal Boulevard.
According to the police press service, the first accident occurred around 01:00. A 26-year-old driver, under the influence of alcohol, was driving southward, lost control of the car, collided with the cobblestones on the left side of the road, and veered into a field where the vehicle stopped. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
The second accident occurred an hour later, around 2:00, at approximately the same location. A 32-year-old intoxicated man was driving northward and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction at a traffic light intersection. The other car had stopped at a red traffic light. Again, there were no injuries in the collision.
Criminal cases have been initiated against both drunk drivers. Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
