Disaster Preparedness Seminar Held in Girne
A seminar titled "Disaster Preparedness and First Aid Training" took place at the Chamber Theatre in Girne. The event was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Girne American University (GAU), the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department, and the Girne Municipality.
According to a statement from GAU’s Corporate Communications Office, the seminar was a joint effort by the Center for Excellence in Education, Training, and Research and the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The seminar, led by Professor Günhan Erdem, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, featured a practical first aid demonstration by students from the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department.
Attendees were guided on essential preparation measures to take before, during, and after natural disasters like earthquakes and floods to minimize risks and damages.
The next seminar in the series will target the residents of the Lapta–Alsancak–Çamlıbel region. The date for the event will be announced soon.
