Fourth Intensive Care Unit Opens at the State Hospital in Nicosia
The fourth intensive care unit has been put into operation at the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia. The facility was visited by TRNC Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek.
During the visit, the Minister inspected the new unit as well as the new ambulances delivered to the 112 Emergency Service in conjunction with the opening of the department.
Minister Dinçyürek emphasized the importance of the work done to increase the hospital's capacity and strengthen medical services.
According to the Minister, this development has increased the current intensive care bed capacity in the hospital to 25. The renovation of the old general intensive care unit will be completed very soon, and with the commissioning of the new ICU in the main building, the number of beds will reach 35.
The Minister also added that five new ambulances, purchased with funds from the Ministry of Health and the Health Fund, have been delivered to the 112 Emergency Service and put into operation. Three more new ambulances are scheduled to be put into service next week. The tender for the purchase of five additional ambulances has also been finalized.
