The 46th Orange Festival Kicks Off Today in Güzelyurt

Today, on June 24th, the traditional Orange Festival will open in Güzelyurt. This year marks the 46th edition of the annual celebration.

The Orange Festival in Güzelyurt for 2024 will run from June 24th to June 30th.

According to a statement from the municipality of Güzelyurt, the week-long festival will feature concerts by Turkish and local artists, a children's festival, and other festive events. All activities during the festival will be free of charge.

The festivities will commence with a ceremonial parade starting at 18:30 in front of Güzelyurt Kurtuluş Primary School. The parade will include students from local schools, representatives of cultural associations, non-governmental organizations, sports clubs, as well as entertainers and foreign guests.

Participants will march towards the Grand Bazaar of Güzelyurt. Events within the 46th Orange Festival in Güzelyurt will continue throughout the night in the Festival Park.

On the opening day of the festival at 20:30, there will be dance shows and a concert by the music group Samida at the Amphitheatre. At 22:30, the group Grup Otantik will perform at the Festival Park Square, showcasing Cypriot culture through songs.

Additionally, the festival will feature musical concerts, a children's festival, and a backgammon tournament. A festive market will be organized throughout the festival.
