Foundation Laid for New Social Housing in Güzelyurt
A ceremony marking the laying of the foundation for a new social housing project was held in Güzelyurt, Northern Cyprus. The development will consist of two blocks, with 35 apartments and parking space for 42 vehicles.
The event was attended by TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Republic Assembly Ziya Öztürkler, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, along with various ministers, lawmakers, officials, union representatives, and local residents.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence, followed by the national anthem. Speeches were delivered by Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz, Mayor of Güzelyurt Mahmut Özçınar, and the President of the Turkish and Cypriot Contractors' Association, Kafer Gürcafer.
As part of the project, two five-story apartment buildings will be constructed, featuring 35 apartments in total, along with parking for 42 vehicles. Twenty-five of the apartments will have a 2+1 layout, covering 98 square meters, while the remaining ten will have a 3+1 layout, each covering 114 square meters.
Both buildings will be equipped with elevators, designed to accommodate people with disabilities.
