Elderly Man Nearly Drowns in Iskele
In Northern Cyprus, another near-tragedy occurred in the sea. An elderly man nearly drowned on a beach in Iskele and is now in critical condition.
According to police, 82-year-old Erdogan Cakir went swimming in the sea around 7:00 PM and began to drown about 50 meters from the shore.
Other beachgoers rescued him and brought him to shore. He was then taken by ambulance to Famagusta State Hospital, where he was placed under observation in the intensive care unit after medical intervention. Doctors describe his condition as critical.
It's worth noting that earlier, doctors were unable to save a man who nearly drowned in the sea over the weekend. Despite all efforts, 28-year-old Mikhail Arutyunyan passed away today in the intensive care unit.
