At the casino in Kyrenia, counterfeit dollars were seized: two individuals arrested
Kyrenia police arrested two young men who circulated counterfeit American dollars. The counterfeiters were detained during a casino game.
In total, $1,503 was seized from the two men aged 24 and 25. According to the police press service, during the casino game, the individuals put into circulation $250, consisting of five banknotes of $50 each. The police provided serial numbers of the seized counterfeit bills - MB24413884C, MB24415475C, MB24413940C, MB24413758C, and MB24415475C.
During further search, an additional $1,253 in various denominations was found on them. The detainees were arrested, and the police investigation into the case continues.
In addition, in connection with the incident, the police issued a warning about counterfeit money.
"Since there is a possibility that the counterfeit money under consideration may have been released into the market in advance, banks, currency companies, markets, and other financial institutions should exercise caution when selling or exchanging bills in denominations of $1, $50, and $100, and also report any suspicious individuals to the nearest police station," the police statement said.
