In Kyrenia, a truck hit an elderly pedestrian
In Kyrenia, a truck struck an elderly person at a pedestrian crossing. The victim is still in the hospital.
According to the police press service, the accident occurred yesterday evening around 17:20 on Ugur Mumcu Street in Karakum.
The 61-year-old driver was traveling westbound and hit 74-year-old Selami Sert, who was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing at the time of the accident.
The injured man was taken to Akcicek Hospital in Kyrenia, where he received first aid, and then transferred to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital in Nicosia. His treatment is still ongoing.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police.
