In Lefke, five young IT fraudsters were apprehended, having stolen 24 million lira
In Lefke, the police arrested five young individuals caught engaging in IT-related fraud. The suspects' loot amounted to 24 million Turkish lira.
According to the police press service, the crime occurred between September 29th and November 17th.
Utilizing IT data from one of the banks operating in Lefke, the perpetrators issued a counterfeit bank payment order through a money transfer system for international transactions. Through this fraudulent scheme, they managed to obtain a total of 24 million TL.
However, the police uncovered the scam and apprehended five individuals – four young men aged 23, 24, and 25, and a 20-year-old woman.
The Lefke Court of Incidents chose to detain the suspects for two days as a preventive measure.
