Record Number of Violators Caught on TRNC Roads on the Third Day of Kurban Bayram
During checks conducted on the roads of Northern Cyprus on the third day of the Kurban Bayram holiday, the police caught 244 traffic violators. One person was arrested, and 42 vehicles were banned from further use.
According to the police press office, a total of 2,363 vehicle drivers were checked across the country during the raids. 244 violators were held accountable for various traffic violations, with criminal cases initiated against them.
139 drivers were caught speeding, 38 were found driving under the influence of alcohol, 8 were using their phones while driving, and 11 failed to fasten their seat belts. One driver was operating a vehicle without a license, and 41 individuals were fined for other traffic violations.
It is noteworthy that on the first day of the holiday, 175 violators were apprehended on TRNC roads. On the second day, four accidents occurred in TRNC, with 173 violators identified.
