New Heads Elected for National Unity Party in TRNC Districts
Over the weekend, the National Unity Party (UBP) held district congresses in Northern Cyprus. During these congresses, new party leaders were elected for all districts in Nicosia, Güzelyurt, İskele, Lefke, Famagusta, and Kyrenia.
At the congresses, Mustafa Akyön was elected as the new UBP chairman for the Nicosia district. Metin Güllü was re-elected as chairman for İskele, Mutlu Atasayan was elected chairman for Güzelyurt, Adil Özgey was re-elected for Lefke, Nahit Öncü was elected for Famagusta, and İbrahim Erbildim was appointed to lead the party in Kyrenia.
These district appointments were announced in preparation for the main party congress, which will be held in TRNC on September 21.
