In the TRNC, smuggled lamb heads, tongues, and rump have been confiscated
In Northern Cyprus, the police seized a large batch of smuggled meat and by-products. The suspect was transporting lamb heads, tongues, and a significant amount of sujuk fat in his car.
According to the police press service, the illegal meat shipment was discovered in a first-degree military restricted zone in Geyretköy. During the search of the 52-year-old man's car, 408 lamb heads, 44.2 kg of tongues, and 103 kg of sujuk fat, undeclared to customs, were found.
All illegal goods were confiscated as material evidence, and the car owner was arrested for smuggling. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
