TRNC Celebrates Galatasaray's Victory in the Turkish Football Championship
Over the past weekend, the football club Galatasaray became the 24-time champion of Turkey. Fans of the yellow-red team in Northern Cyprus celebrated their favorite team's championship in style.
In the final match of the Turkish championship, Galatasaray defeated Konyaspor 3-1 as visitors. This victory allowed the club to become the 24-time champion of the country, setting a record in the history of Turkish national championships.
At the end of the tournament, Okan Buruk's team accumulated 102 points in 38 matches, securing the top spot in the league table.
Celebrations for Galatasaray's championship victory took place throughout Northern Cyprus. In honor of the team's tournament victory, fans took to the streets of TRNC cities with yellow-red flags and banners.
Football enthusiasts gathered in various locations in Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, and Güzelyurt to celebrate Galatasaray's championship. Due to the large gathering of fans in some areas, traffic was disrupted.
