Five Suspects Arrested in TRNC for Murder in Niğde

Five suspects involved in a brutal murder in the Turkish city of Niğde have been apprehended in Northern Cyprus and extradited to Turkey.

According to Turkish media reports, the crime took place on June 9 near a bridge close to the İlhanlı Mahallesi cement plant in Niğde. Local residents alerted the police after discovering a motionless individual on the ground. Upon arrival, law enforcement confirmed the victim, identified as 22-year-old Mahmut Firat Tabar, had been murdered.

Following an investigation, police identified 14 suspects, with nine arrested in Niğde's city center. However, five suspects managed to flee to Northern Cyprus.

Turkish authorities sought assistance from TRNC counterparts, resulting in the successful apprehension of the remaining suspects. All suspects were initially taken to Adana and later transferred to Niğde. After interrogation at police headquarters, the detainees were brought before the court.
