Today, Turkish Republic Day Celebrations in the TRNC: Road Closure Schedule
On October 29, Northern Cyprus is hosting celebrations for the 101st anniversary of the Turkish Republic, leading to several road closures for the day. These ceremonies will mark the milestone with parades and events in various cities, affecting traffic in specific areas.
In all districts, roads where ceremonies will be held are set to close one hour before the start of each event, with traffic rerouted to alternative routes.
In Nicosia, traffic closures will begin at 2:30 PM along Mehmet Akif Avenue (Dereboyu), starting from Pronto Circle. The parade will conclude in front of the Avenue Shopping Center on the same street.
In Famagusta, the march will start at 11:30 AM from Sulu Circle, proceed along İsmet İnönü Boulevard, and conclude in front of Molto Supermarket on that street.
In Kyrenia, the parade will begin at 3:00 PM from the entrance of The Arkın Colony Hotel, moving along Ziya Rızkı, Turgut Tahsin, and Kordonboyu streets. The parade will end at the Atatürk Monument in Ramadan Cemil Square.
In Güzelyurt, the procession will start at 11:45 AM from the District Governor's Office, continue along Ecevit and Turgut Özal streets, and conclude in front of Güzelyurt Family Dining Hall.
In İskele, the parade started at 9:30 AM from the Municipality building, proceeded along Dr. Arhan Müderrisoğlu Street toward Davut Street, and ended at İskele Square.
In Lefke, the march began at 9:45 AM from the Lefke Police Station at Dr. Selçuk Sömeka Square, moved along Atatürk Street, and concluded at Asmalı Kahvehane Square.
During these hours, drivers are advised to use alternate routes and avoid parking along these roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.
