TRNC Increases Social Security Payments
As of January 1, 2025, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has raised social security rates and pensions. This increase will benefit individuals receiving government-funded payments.
Following a proposal from the Social Security Department, the Council of Ministers of the TRNC has approved an 11.12% increase for those receiving benefits related to workplace accidents, occupational diseases, as well as pensions for disability, old age, and the death of an insured person.
The decision, published in the Official Gazette, states that the increase will apply to both disability and old age pensions under the Social Security Law and the Social Assistance Law. Additionally, those receiving survivor’s pensions will receive an increase proportional to their share.
Furthermore, pensions funded by the state budget will also be raised by 11.12%.
The increase takes effect on January 1, 2025, and will be covered by the Social Security Fund.
