The TRNC Introduces Paid "License for Transferring Personal Data" to Other Countries
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has established new rules and conditions for transferring personal data to other countries. According to the new regulations, disclosing information will require a Transfer License and the consent of the person whose data is planned to be transferred.
According to local media reports, the security criteria for transferring personal data from the TRNC to other countries have been set by the Personal Data Protection Council.
Therefore, the transfer of personal data will depend on ensuring adequate protection by the relevant country and the "Transfer License," which will be issued by the Council for a certain fee.
Additionally, it is necessary to obtain the consent of any individual whose data is to be transferred, and the protection of their vital interests will be given priority.
