Three Drunk Driving Accidents in Northern Cyprus in One Day
Three separate accidents involving drunk drivers occurred in Northern Cyprus over the past 24 hours, taking place in Alayköy, Nicosia, and Famagusta.
According to the police, the first accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on August 29 in the parking lot in front of the Royalsun market in Famagusta. A 39-year-old driver was reversing when he collided with another car driven by a 40-year-old man who was under the influence of alcohol. Although no one was injured, legal action was taken against both drivers.
The second accident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on August 30 on the main road in Alayköy. A 46-year-old intoxicated driver failed to stop at the intersection of Atatürk Street and crashed into steel barriers. Despite no injuries, legal proceedings were initiated against the driver.
The third accident took place around 3:00 a.m. on August 30 on Üsküdar Street in Nicosia. A 32-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a road sign near the intersection with Ismail Beyoğlu Street. It was later determined that he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Although no one was injured, a criminal case was filed against the driver.
