Turkish police have arrested members of a criminal group involved in forging driver's licenses from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Georgia.

The operation to capture the suspected criminals took place in eight provinces across Turkey: Istanbul, Samsun (which served as the operation center), Ordu, Kocaeli, Edirne, Tekirdağ, Kütahya, and Manisa.

The operation was conducted by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Division (KOM), the Intelligence Directorate of the Samsun Provincial Gendarmerie, and the Ilkadim District Gendarmerie, under the direction of the Samsun Chief Prosecutor's Office. A total of four individuals were arrested as part of the investigation, accused of producing and selling fake driver's licenses from TRNC and Georgia.

Fake documents were seized from 60 people. After being questioned by the police, the four detainees were brought to court.

It is worth noting that earlier, in early June, six more people were arrested in Turkey for a similar crime. One of them was detained after questioning, while the other five were released on bail.
