Victory Parade Rehearsal in Nicosia This Weekend: Road Closure Schedule

On Sunday, August 25, some roads in Nicosia will be closed due to the official rehearsal for the Victory Parade, which will take place as part of the celebration of the 102nd anniversary of Victory Day. The holiday is observed in Northern Cyprus on August 30.

According to the police press office, starting from 07:30, the road between the Altınbaş traffic lights and the Gönyeli roundabout will be closed to traffic until the rehearsal ends.

During the specified days and hours, traffic will be organized as follows:

  • Drivers coming from central Nicosia and wishing to travel to the Organized Industrial Zone will be directed from the Altınbaş traffic lights.

  • Drivers coming from Famagusta and wishing to reach the Middle East University will be directed from Middle East Boulevard via the Northern Ring Road of Nicosia.

  • Drivers from Famagusta wishing to travel to Nicosia will be directed left from the Hamitköy roundabout to Mimar Mehmet Vahip Street and then through Mustafa Ahmed Russo Street.

  • Drivers coming from Famagusta and wishing to go to Güzelyurt will be directed via the Gönyeli Çemberi route through the Northern Ring Road of Nicosia or via the Metahan-Alayköy Ring Road from the Citröen traffic lights on Mehmet Akif Street in Nicosia.

  • Drivers arriving from Güzelyurt and wishing to travel to Nicosia will be directed via the Alayköy - Metahan Ring Road or the Gönyeli roundabout, as well as through the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

  • Drivers coming from Kyrenia and wishing to travel to Nicosia will be directed via the Boğazköy - Dikmen road, then through the Organized Industrial Zone of Nicosia via the Altınbaş traffic lights or from the Gönyeli roundabout.

Drivers traveling on the main Kyrenia - Nicosia road will be directed through the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

To avoid obstructing traffic, drivers are requested not to park their vehicles on the specified roads during the rehearsal and to follow road signs and markings.
