Following the United States, blocking TikTok is not ruled out in the European Union
Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, has admitted that the social network TikTok may be blocked in the European Union.
As reported by Politico, in response to a question about the possible blocking of the service for creating and viewing short videos, the head of the European Commission noted that "this is not excluded."
Ursula von der Leyen also reminded that the European Commission became the first organization in the world to ban TikTok from being installed on work phones for its employees.
Recall that earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden signed a law banning the Chinese social network TikTok in the country.
According to the document signed by the American leader, the company-owner of the short video viewing service now has 9 months to sell its business in the United States.
If during this time the Chinese technology company ByteDance does not give up the asset, TikTok will be permanently blocked in America.
