Six Fires and 60 Incidents in Northern Cyprus Last Week
Over the past week, six fires and 60 incidents requiring rescuer intervention were reported in Northern Cyprus.
According to the weekly report from the Police Department, the total damage from the fires amounted to 102,000 Turkish liras.
The likely causes of the fires include short circuits, fuel leaks in vehicles, unattended cigarette butts, trash burning, sparks from welding igniting construction materials, and overheating oil in a working deep fryer.
In addition to extinguishing fires, firefighters also rescued a person who had fallen into a sewer manhole in a garden, assisted people trapped in elevators and vehicles due to traffic accidents, saved cats stuck in trees and cars, and helped clear debris following the Sunday storm.
