In the past week, there were 12 fires in Northern Cyprus, resulting in approximately 3 million Turkish liras worth of property damage
According to the fire department's report for the period from November 13 to 19, the country experienced 12 fires, and 21 incidents required the intervention of the rescue service. The total damage caused by the fires amounted to around 2,731,500 Turkish liras.
Emergency services report that the primary cause of the fires was short circuits. Most of the incidents occurred in Nicosia, with vehicle fires and electrical wiring combustion ranking highest.
Among other possible causes of the fires are mentioned: fuel leakage from the emergency vehicle's gasoline hose, oil accumulation in the chimney, contact or breakage of power lines due to wind, the fire getting out of control, ignited for garbage burning.
Other emergency calls included rescuing an 8-month-old child stuck at home, assisting a cat trapped in the garden gate, rescuing a pigeon stuck in the kitchen, saving a dog that fell into a well, and helping people stuck in an elevator.
Firefighters also engaged in preventive measures to prevent emergencies.
