Getting married in Northern Cyprus has become more expensive
In the TRNC, fees for marriage registration have increased. The order of the Council of the Turkish Community amending the Resolution of the Council of Ministers on marriage came into effect after publication in the "Official Gazette."
According to the document, the new fee is 1455 TL if the marriage is registered at the Civil Registry Office, and 2955 TL for marriages registered elsewhere.
In addition, notarization of the marriage notification now costs 148 Turkish lira, filing an objection notification costs 143 Turkish lira, issuance of a certificate for the purpose of postponing the notification costs 148 Turkish lira, obtaining a marriage certificate or any of its copies costs 148 Turkish lira, and the fee for marriage registration in the registry is 583 TL.
