Hot and Dusty Weather Expected in the TRNC on Friday, May 9
Residents of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are in for a hot and dusty Friday, according to the latest forecast from the TRNC Meteorology Department.
On May 9, high atmospheric pressure and warm, humid air in the upper layers of the atmosphere are expected to dominate the region. Forecasters are predicting partly cloudy skies with no chance of rain.
Temperatures are set to climb 2 to 4°C above the seasonal average, reaching between 27°C and 34°C in most areas.
Moderate northwesterly winds are expected throughout the day. Two weather alerts have been issued: a high risk of wildfires due to dry conditions, and elevated levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Authorities are advising the public to avoid direct sun exposure for more than 15 minutes.

• Western Coast:
Lefke – 28°C, Güzelyurt – 29°C

Lefkoşa (Nicosia) – 34°C, Ercan – 34°C
• Eastern Coast:
Gazimağusa – 25°C, Iskele – 30°C
• Karpaz Peninsula:
Yenierenköy – 27°C
