Residents of Northern Cyprus Invited to a Heartwarming Christmas Turtle Release
As the holiday season approaches, Northern Cyprus is set to host a truly special event—a Christmas-themed release ceremony for Nehir, a young turtle who narrowly escaped death due to plastic pollution. Thanks to the dedicated care of veterinarians at the Cyprus MarineLife Center, Nehir has made a remarkable recovery.
“We’re delighted to invite you to a unique Christmas ceremony to celebrate Nehir, a young turtle who was given a second chance at life thanks to expert medical attention. Now fully healed, Nehir is ready to return to the sea! Come and witness a real Christmas miracle!” said the event organizers.
The release is scheduled for Sunday, December 29, at 11:00 AM on Vasilia Beach in Karsiyaka.
“Don’t miss this unforgettable moment as we send Nehir back to the sea! Let’s come together to give him a warm and joyful Christmas send-off as he swims into his new adventure!” the announcement concluded.
