White passport in Northern Cyprus
The white passport in Turkish is called Beyaz kimlik and is essentially one of the types of residence permits. However, to obtain it, the applicant must meet a number of requirements.
Requirements for Beyaz kimlik
- The applicant must have had a work or business visa continuously for 6 years.
- The candidate must have their own or rented property in Northern Cyprus.
- The candidate for obtaining Beyaz kimlik must have a conclusion from a state hospital indicating the absence of the following diseases: tuberculosis, hepatitis B and C, AIDS, and some others.
- A certificate of no criminal record.

Does a conviction for a traffic violation affect the application?
As already mentioned, a certificate of no criminal record is required to obtain a "white passport". However, legal proceedings for traffic violations are not taken into account when considering an application for Beyaz kimlik.
