Rules for renting a flat in Cyprus

Every country has its own rules for renting accommodation. In Cyprus these rules are somewhat different from what we are used to in Russian-speaking countries. If you use the services of a real estate agency or an independent broker, you must pay him a commission - the amount of a month's rent. The owner, at the conclusion of the contract, takes one deposit, but recently new rules have been introduced and you may be asked for two deposits and rent for the first month. Total: if you rent through an intermediary, you will have to pay three sums at once. If you rent directly from the owner, you will have to pay two or three instalments at once. And do not forget to sign a contract.
