11-Year-Old Girl to Represent Cyprus at Junior Eurovision 2024
Cyprus will participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, with 11-year-old Maria Pissarides chosen to represent the country.
According to the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), Maria is a student at a British school that specializes in performing arts.
Her selection was made following the evaluation of a proposal submitted by the production company Chandal Entertainment Ltd to CyBC.
The song that will represent Cyprus was composed by Sophia Patsalidou, who represented Cyprus in the same contest ten years ago, in collaboration with Swedish producer and composer Armin Ghilani. The performance will be directed by renowned British artistic director Leila Ellison.
The contest is scheduled to take place in Madrid on November 16, 2024.
Chandal Entertainment Ltd will also hold auditions for dancers who will accompany the young performer on stage.
