13-year-old boy hospitalized after school fight in Nicosia
Another episode of school violence has been recorded in Cyprus. A 13-year-old student was hospitalized after a fight at an educational institution in Nicosia.
According to local media, three schoolchildren lifted the 13-year-old boy and threw him to the floor. When he fell, the child lost consciousness. An ambulance was called to the scene. The victim required hospitalization. As it turned out later, the teenager had a broken shoulder blade.
It is reported that one of the attackers had previously been expelled from the school for causing bodily harm to another child. According to preliminary data, the attack was carried out without any reason. The affected student has been home-schooled.
The Ministry of Education has requested a fact-finding report from the school and the district superintendent. In addition, the department has activated a school violence protocol. On Tuesday, a meeting was held at the school with all those involved in the incident.
Let us recall that it was previously reported that six students were expelled from the Paphos Technical School for bad behavior.
The expulsion of students caused discontent among other students: dozens of students from various schools came out to protest.
The Ministry of Education later supported the decision of the Paphos Technical School teachers' association to expel the bullies. At the same time, the authorities allowed students to enroll in other educational institutions in Paphos.
