Unstable Air Masses Over Cyprus on May 14
The Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus reports that weak low-pressure systems and unstable air masses will affect the region on Wednesday, May 14. Starting Friday, dust is expected to hang in the atmosphere, with concentrations likely to increase at times.
This morning, the weather will be mostly clear, although some cloudiness is expected along the coast. In the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms are likely, particularly in the mountains, inland areas, and the eastern part of the island. Hail may also occur during storms.
According to the forecast, daytime temperatures will rise to around 27°C inland, 24–26°C along the coast, and approximately 19°C in the mountains. In the evening, the weather will remain mostly clear, though increased cloud cover is expected in parts of the western region. Overnight, temperatures will drop to around 16°C inland and along the coast, and to about 9°C in mountainous areas.
On Thursday, most of the island will see mostly sunny skies, with occasional local cloudiness. However, isolated showers may develop around midday and in the afternoon, mainly over the mountains. Temperatures will remain relatively stable through Friday, staying near or slightly below the seasonal average.
