18-Year-Old Caught with a Suitcase Full of Drugs at Larnaca Airport
An 18-year-old woman was arrested at Larnaca Airport after authorities found her carrying a suitcase filled with drugs. Her luggage contained a total of 25 kilograms of cannabis.
According to the police, the young woman, who appeared suspicious, arrived in Larnaca around noon the previous day. She had traveled to Cyprus from Thailand, with a stopover in the UAE.
Customs officers, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Unit (YKAN), decided to inspect her luggage. After scanning the suitcase, they conducted a thorough physical search and found 43 nylon-sealed bags containing dried cannabis, weighing a total of 25 kilograms and 612 grams. All the drugs were confiscated and handed over to YKAN.
Following the discovery, the police arrested two individuals: the 18-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man.
