April 4 Weather Alert: Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms, and Hail Expected Across Cyprus
The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a weather warning for Thursday, April 4, as the island is expected to come under the influence of moderate low pressure. Fine dust will also remain suspended in the air.
Partly cloudy skies are forecast for the first half of the day, with a chance of isolated showers along the coast. However, cloud cover will gradually increase, leading to thunderstorms—mainly over mountainous regions, inland areas, and the northern and eastern parts of the island. Hail may accompany some of these storms. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by the evening.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 22°C inland, 20°C along the coast, and just 8°C in the mountains.
Tonight, skies will generally be clear, although some areas may see increased cloudiness. Isolated showers are possible in the west and north. As the night progresses, low clouds and light fog may form in certain areas, especially toward the early morning hours.
Overnight temperatures are forecast to fall to around 9°C inland, 12–14°C along the coast, and around 4°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the weather will remain mostly clear, although some local cloud development is expected. By midday, these clouds could bring isolated showers and thunderstorms in some areas.
No significant change in temperatures is expected through Saturday.
