"APOEL" Secures Cyprus Football Championship Victory
The football club "APOEL" clinched victory in the Republic of Cyprus football championship. In the tournament's final match, the team from Nicosia played to a draw against "AEK" from Larnaca.
The match unfolded last Saturday at the GSP stadium, concluding with a 1-1 scoreline. Both goals were netted within the early minutes of the game. "AEK" took the lead in the 5th minute. Initially disallowed due to offside, VAR intervention led to the referee counting the goal.
Four minutes later, the hosts equalized with a goal from Marcinho. The score remained unchanged for the remainder of the match.
This draw secured "APOEL" their 29th championship win in the club's history.
