Hospitals in Cyprus allowed to visit without a negative Covid-19 test
From today, visiting hospitals and nursing homes in the Republic of Cyprus no longer requires presenting a negative Covid-19 test result. This was announced by the Minister of Health, Michael Damianos, after the consideration of protective measures by the Council of Ministers.
In statements to the media after the cabinet meeting, the Health Minister noted that the only remaining measure is the use of masks in hospitals and nursing homes.
Responding to questions about the Covid-19 situation, Michael Damianos said that the number of detected cases is "very low."
"Out of a large number of tests, around 80,000, there are only a few hundred cases of Covid-19," the minister said.
He also noted that the number of cases in intensive care units is minimal, so the decision was made not to extend the current anti-Covid measures.
