Four Aircraft Battle Forest Fire Near Paphos
A major forest fire has erupted near Paphos, with four aircraft deployed to combat the blaze.
The fire in Paphos province began today around 2:00 PM, according to emergency services. In response, the Forestry Department and the Fire Service were mobilized.
Georgios Constantinou, a press representative for the Forestry Department, stated that the fire is raging in the Steni area, moving towards Polis Chrysochous. Strong ground forces are working to extinguish the fire, with four aircraft also engaged in the effort.
Currently, the firefighting efforts include three Forestry Department bulldozers, one excavator, five fire engines, twenty forest firefighters, four aircraft, twelve Fire Service personnel, and an agricultural tractor.
