Two Cypriot Beaches Ranked Among Europe’s Best by TripAdvisor

Two beaches in Cyprus have been named among Europe’s top 20 beaches for 2025, according to the latest TripAdvisor rankings. Konnos Beach, located in the Paralimni-Deryneia municipality, and Makronissos Beach in Ayia Napa have both secured spots on the prestigious list.

Konnos Beach was ranked 19th in Europe in TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice Awards. The beach is administratively shared between Paralimni-Deryneia and Ayia Napa. Notably, Paralimni-Deryneia is home to 18 Blue Flag beaches, the highest number of any municipality in Cyprus. Local officials have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing safety, accessibility, and visitor facilities along their coastal areas.

Meanwhile, Makronissos Beach secured the 24th spot, recognized for its pristine natural beauty and family-friendly atmosphere.

Ayia Napa Mayor Christos Zannetou welcomed the ranking as further proof of the municipality’s dedication to maintaining high-quality standards. He praised both municipal employees and local residents for their efforts in preserving and managing the coastline.

TripAdvisor’s recognition further cements Cyprus as a top-tier holiday destination, with its beaches consistently ranking among the best in Europe.

For reference, Elafonissi Beach on Crete, Greece, claimed first place in the 2025 rankings, followed by Praia da Falésia (Olhos de Água, Portugal) and Playa de Muro (Mallorca, Spain) in the top three.
